Nest Camera impossible to use with MacBook or iPhone

I've gone through 2 hours to attempting to setup 1 of 3 cameras on my Nest/Google account. It does not work through the most current iOS app for Google Home or Nest. I've tried to do it connecting to my MacBook that is also up to date. The mac OS install from the USB connected camera is outdated. There are no links to the current version that would work. All help docs from Google reference the link in the camera's disk drive but do not link to the new version. There are other locked threads on this topic.  None provide a solution even though many Google reps have responded. The most I could find is a Google rep named Brad saying that Nestcams cannot be setup unless you have a Windows computer.  (SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Please just post an easy way to setup this camera.

Which specific Google Nest camera(s) are you trying to set up? Google Nest decided that the newer Google Nest cameras and doorbells introduced starting in Sept. 2021 would get installed ONLY in the Google Home app; older Google Nest cameras and doorbells still get installed in the Google Nest app. We have the older cameras and doorbells, as well as two of the newer cameras, and have never had to use either a Windows or Mac computer to install them.  And I don't think any of Google Nest's cameras have a disk drive.

I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest cams in the Nest app like you may be used too. However, the new Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Google Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. 

You can now use the Google Home web app to view your cameras and doorbells. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.
