Nest Camera with Floodlight Setup Code does not enable light control

I have 2 Nest Cam with floodlight at my house. One I retained the QR code for, the other, I did not.

The camera that does not have a QR code stopped working one day so I factory reset it and reinstalled using the setup code below the camera.  It seemed to have fixed the problem as the camera began working. However, I noticed that it no longer recognized the camera as being part of a floodlight pair, even though I selected that option in the setup steps.

I went to Nest support, tried every option available including trying to add the camera to a new "home" to see if it fixed the problem. I was told by Nest support that the camera portion of the setup is actually from a battery camera which I actually confirmed by looking at my other floodlight camera settings, it's denoted as a battery camera in the Model Technical information. Support asked me to provide my receipt of purchase which I did and they said they would send a replacement. They then went silent on me for a few weeks after me "checking-in" a few times and they then replied saying that it appears to be a battery camera and there's nothing they can do. Mind you - i provided the purchase receipt and this thing worked as it should when i first installed it using the QR code that I had at the time and I was told they would be sending a replacement over 3 weeks ago..

To me it is a very clear issue, the set up code on the camera is not distinct to the flood light configuratio and the app, for some reason, isn't making the link. As I have another floodlight light cam working properly at this moment and the device settings still say it is a battery camera, I'm almost certain that this would be the case for any camera in this situation.

The issue at hand appears to be that you can't properly reinstall a floodlight camera using the setup code such that you retain control of the flood light. This should be something that can be fixed in the app/software. After ghosting me for a few weeks after previously telling me they would be mailing a replacement, I'm now being told that I have to buy a new camera? I know the camera works, the floodlights turn on with the motion sensor, I just can't control them in the app under the lights or camera settings. The camera worked for well over a year before I had to factory reset it.

I don't know what exactly my objective is with this post other than to get the attention of someone who might be able to correct this flaw in the setup process so the Setup code properly acknowledges the lights OR print the QR code on the device as is done with most other Nest products I've owned. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the reply. There was a UI update to the Home app over the weekend and something in that update seems to have corrected this issue. I was able to successfully setup my camera with floodlight using the Setup Code and it now operates with the same functionality as it did when I had the QR code.

That said- this thread can be closed as resolved. Thanks.
