Nest Cameras all went offline June 5th at the same time

Hello,

I have 5 nest cam battery and a nest doorbell. All hardwired. On June 5th around 9pm EST all of my cameras went offline. The doorbell still works. Yet since then I have not been able to get these devices back online. Anyone else have this bug with the latest update? Really upsetting me because I’ve been having a lot of issues with the WiFi pro and now the cameras add to the drama. Everything else functions on my network as intended. Speeds are great. Any one else experiencing this?

I talked to Google today.

Its a known bug thats been going around the last two weeks, it dont affect everyone… Google say it will be online by itself when they fix it, but dont know when that will be!

I think if Google don't help to fix this for everybody, we vote with our feet. The end user cant be expected to resolve this, we are not all engineers or technical minded. And likely to break the doorbell if we're jamming pins into it and wiggling it about to access a reset. Not cool Google.

I experience the exact same issue. WiFi is fine with various Google AP. Home units, Chromecast and everything else works fine. Four cams and a doorbell are "offline", but I get notifications. However I'm unable to access history. I see the event but it is unavailable.

Mine is even stranger.  I get all the events and notifications.  I can even view them all.  I just can't view anything live because it lists at offline.

All of mine just started working. Literally minutes ago. Yay 👏

I hope it'll last.

As I type, both of my Nest cameras are online again (I also have an Indoor one). But they go offline at random moments, without me changing anything to my network (or the connection being bad, as no other devices have an issue with that).

I tried a 2nd doorbell, just to make sure mine wasn't faulty.  The 2nd doorbell does the exact same thing.

I also tried setting up a guest network that only uses 2.4 Ghz and forced it to connect to that.  Just in case it had to do with switching between 5 and 2.4 ghz.  That didn't fix anything either.

Mine have been faulty for over a year. To any prospective buyers don't buy google garbage just buy another brand

Same as with others - doorbell went offline today. It’s got power,  is very close to router but despite resetting it home app won’t connect to it. Wifi is working fine for other devices.

Frustrating to say the least.

Mine is the same, it went offline earlier and won't come back. I've tried to restart it but nothing

Faced the same issue I think.

Yesterday - out-of-nowhere, without any changes to my network/wifi - my Nest Doorbell (battery) and one of my two Nest Camera Battery instances became failing.

They show up "offline" in the Google Home app, but I do still receive notifications from the cameras, instantly. If someone presses the doorbell, my phone and other google devices get the notification immediately. The same goes for movement or any other notifications of the camera.

I've gone through the troubleshooter by checking wifi reception (= perfect), reboot of devices (= no change), and even a factory reset of the device (= no result).

Based on my UniFI controller, both the camera and doorbell are constantly connected to the wifi network. With a good connection signal, and if I perform an ICMP request towards the device, it never shows any drops, showing that they are properly connected!

Same here.

the Doorbell works when pressed, then notifications are coming through on alle speakers and devices. When it detects people it sends a notification. It can't be accessednin the home app through. We can't talk through it or send the prerecorded messages.

Mine just came back online. They must have fixed the bug. I can now see the live view and it is no longer saying offline

Hi everyone,

Thanks for reaching out. Our team is already aware of this behavior and is still looking further into the issue. I'll merge this with the similar trending issue on this thread in the community. I suggest that you follow the main thread for updates because this thread will be locked automatically once merged into the main one.

Regards,

Emerson

To be clear all my cameras are showing online. Green status lights. You even see it recognizing movement and starting to record (light goes solid). The problem is the new app.

Hi folks,

I'm happy to hear that everything has been sorted out.

@Anonymous, how's it going with your Nest Doorbell? Is it back online? In case you have an update, let us know, and we'll be happy to help.

I appreciate your help here, Emerson.

Best,

Zoe

I’m still not sorted out. I’m still down going on a week of no services.

Same as everybody else - all my outdoor Nest cams as well as Nest doorbell, went offline in Home app at the same time, 4 hours ago.

Does Anyone know what is going on?

Cheers

Same for me. Three indoor/wired Nest Cams went offline overnight.

Yeah, happened to many after 1.67 firmware and new Google Home app update. If Google is doing anything to fix it, they are not very transparent about it. Basically no response.

Me too, happened exactly thr same.

Doorbell went offline yesterday not nest cam offline as of 4 hours ago

Same here. Green light is on, Wi-Fi connected, recording works just the live stream does not.

Yup same here. Can still capture some events but live camera doesn't work. Have reset my network, the app, re seated the camera and nothing.

same here..

Same here, this is a security concern for everyone with a nest camera setup.

I would like some Google communication around this in a form of email

Same here but only for my indoor cameras.  Outdoor cameras and doorbell remain ok.

Same in France

same here in Italy, 3 cams offline since yesterday evening: doorbell, cam with battery and cam w/o battery

Same here in Belgium since yesterday. All outdoor cam's went offline. Did a hard reset, succesfull but the cam's don't connect anymore. White solid led still on. In the app: camera's are deactivated. Please activate the camera's again.

Same here...

Same here !

Same from Denmark 😞 - Did a full reinstall but that didn't work either..

Same here in the Netherlands, offline since last night (around 01:20 a.m.).

So far event recordings where still coming through, however that now seems to also have stopped working properly, it still show up as a recorded event but can't watch the footage anymore.

I hope Google are at work fixing this.
