Nest Doorbell Battery stopped recording events because of temperatures?

My new nest doorbell stopped recording events after 1.5 weeks of use. I suspect it might be too cold for it? It's currently around 0 degrees celsius. Pretty poor performance so far...Or could this be a software glitch?
