Nest Doorbell Battery won’t mount after charging

I have had my nest battery doorbell for over a year now,  and it will no longer mount after the latest charge. The mechanism on the back of the doorbell no longer pushes in and is locked in place.

It seems to be a common issue throughout the community. Support will not replace my doorbell since it’s out of warranty. Are there any other options? It does seem to be a deficiency in the device.

It’s unfortunate the warranty is not longer, especially for a known deficiency. I cannot justify purchasing a replacement every year, and I would be concerned about the same malfunction. 

 

Any feedback would be appreciated.

@Fender627 

It seems to be a poor design. A few customers in this forum have tried applying a little WD-40 to the latch mechanism, being careful not to get it in the doorbell.

Hello- Unfortunately, this did not resolve the issue. The mechanism on the back is still locked in place and I cannot remount the doorbell.
