Nest Doorbell Chime Connector has Stopped Working

The indoor chime no longer works with the Nest doorbell. The standard doorbell button works perfectly.

How can I get a replacement Chime Connector?

You can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue with your Nest Doorbell Chime Connector:

  • Check the Power Supply: Ensure that the chime connector is properly powered. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause it to stop working.

There are a couple of other possibilities. One is that you have a loose connection on one of your chime connection wires. The second is that your doorbell transformer is inadequate or old. A couple of years ago, we replaced our very old doorbell transformer (probably 10V, though it had no markings) with a 16V 30 VA transformer.

Hi folks!

@MplsCustomer and @MplsCustomer, thanks for your suggestions.

@Prairiehome thanks for posting in the community. I'm sorry for the inconvenience that you've experienced with your Nest doorbell. I can see that the indoor chime stopped working, you have checked the button in the device, and it works well. To further assist you, I need to know what the exact model of your Nest doorbell is.

In the meantime, I will suggest you make sure the doorbell circuit is complete. Follow the wires and make sure there aren't any loose ends. Check the chime wires and check if the doorbell wires are securely connected. Remember to turn off the power source of the doorbell at the breaker box before following these steps.

Tell me how it goes.

Regards,

Daniel.
