Nest Doorbell Offline

Seanallin99
Community Member

Wi-Fi signal is strong, router is maybe 15 feet from the doorbell camera. System was working great for months. In the last ten days or so it's just stopped working. Says the camera is offline despite WiFi signal working great.

Any suggestions?

Hi Seanallin99,

Thanks for getting back to me! To check if your current Wi-Fi connection is using the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band, you can usually find this information in your device's network settings.

To continue addressing this situation, I have a few more questions for you:

  • What's the LED status light on your Nest Doorbell (battery)?
  • Have there been any recent changes to your home network (e.g., new router, Wi-Fi password change, network extenders)?
  • Have you tried restarting your cameras following these steps: Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell?

I look forward to your response.

Best,
Juan

Hi Seanallin99,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand your Nest Doorbell is showing offline, even though your Wi-Fi signal is strong and the router is nearby. Help is here!

To find the best solution, I'd like to ask the following questions:

  • What's your Nest Doorbell device model? Please check out the following link for your reference: Technical specs for Nest cameras and doorbells
Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the Nest Doorbell?
  • Do other devices experience slow internet speeds?
  • What Wi-Fi frequency band is your Nest Doorbell connected to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?

Please keep me posted.

Best,
Juan

It's a Nest Doorbell Battery, only a nest mini speaker inside the house

No issues with other devices

Not sure, how do I check what band it's connected to?
