Nest Doorbell Ring/ Notifications and Sonos- No good.

iPhone user.

So I had a Ring doorbell but came to the conclusion I was tired of paying the monthly fees. So after some research I settled on Nest doorbell.

Installed it today. But there are a couple of things that i cannot believe and really bug me:

1) how in gods name does it not have a separate/distinct sound that you get when there is motion vs someone rings the doorbell. That makes zero sense to me. None. Ring had this. Obviously if someone rings the doorbell it is of a more urgent nature. The sound you get is the default sound for all sorts of notifications

2) Supposedly it will "pair" (for lack of a better word) with my Sonos. It doesnt. I needed that as Nest doorbell doesnt have a separate chime, as Ring has (a small plugin like a nightlight). Yes I recognize I could buy a small speaker.

Thus far not happy with this purchase.
Edit- Another stupid thing I just figured out is you cannot delete  (or doing anything for that matter) with individual videos. Like WTF????????

#1 is a drawback of the 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbells.  The 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells, which we still have, produce a doorbell chime sound on our iPhones (but NOT on my Apple watch) because they work with the Google Nest app.

For #2, we don't have any Sonos speakers, but maybe this will help:

Yeah, thanks for that but it doesnt work. Phone says "connected " then about 2 seconds later says ""Sorry, something went wrong". Tried a bunch of times. A lot of research tells me this is basically how it is.

Hi Frank, I just installed my Nest Doorbell (Battery) which I had hard wired at my work.  When someone rings the doorbell I get a notification on my iphone and I purchased the echoshow.  Strangely, my husband says whenever someone rings the bell at the office, he can hear it on our Sonos at home! So I guess it does connect to the Sonos.  My problem is trying to figure out how to disconnect it from my home Sonos! Hope that helps somewhat!
