I recently moved to a new home and bought a whole suite of Google products to set up including a nest Doorbell.
As there was no existing doorbell and therefore no mains to connect to, I opted for the wireless battery version of the doorbell.
Now I only get a notification to my phone (usually on silent) when the zone I've set up is tripped. No alert when the doorbell itself is pressed. I bought a nest mini speaker to use as a chime but am presented with this:
I also bought a 2nd gen hub, but I get no notifications of any kind on either of these devices, zonal or button push, nothing. They are set up on the same home properly as I can pull up live video at any time.
Surely this can't be right? I can't fathom what the point of a smart doorbell would be if anyone in the house has to constantly check or carry their phone around -on loud- just in case an alert goes off.
I've seen multiple other threads on here about the same thing but they all seem to get locked up before there's an actionable solution, please help!!

You SHOULD get a notification on your phone if the doorbell is pressed, unless you have Google Home notifications turned off on your phone.
P.S. The "Indoor chime" option is disabled in your screen shot because your battery doorbell is NOT wired and so is not connected to an indoor doorbell chime.
You have "Visitor announcements" enabled, so you SHOULD get visitor announcements on all of your Nest Hubs, Nest Minis, and Nest speakers when the doorbell is pressed, as long as the speakers are in the same Google Nest "home/structure" and you don't have the speakers set to "Do not disturb". I've seen other posts where "Visitor announcements" don't seem to be working with the new battery doorbell, but I haven't seen any answers.

Thanks for the help, I think the problem was that I was confusing "indoor chime" as any kind of notification (IE - an alert on nest mini speaker) rather than a third-party piece of hardware.
I have resolved the issue regarding the nest mini speaker not getting any alerts - I had previously set up a 'home' in my last house, with a different mini speaker (but it had been named the same) - as I'm not living there any more I deleted the entire home from my Google account and as soon as I did that, the visitor alerts started coming through on my nest mini speaker no problem!
Cheers again!

I have the same issue. New Google Doorbell wired and when the button is pressed my phone gets the notification but I dont hear "someone at the front door" on my Google Hub Display. In the app I have the chime off but visitor anouncements on. I also have Google speakers in my house but do not want anouncements on them since 1 is in the nursey and the other in my toddlers room. I would like the Google Hub Display to anounce someone is at the door and show the video with no other interaction otherwise I should just return it as this was the sole purpose of buying it. I have tried addeding the doorbell to my livingroom group as that is were the display is. I have watched i dont know how many youtube videos, browsed other sites, and search through this community. This is so frustrating and shouldnt be this hard. I'm ready to give up after two weeks of this nonsense.

The way Google Nest has it set up, you are supposed to get "Visitor announcements" on ALL Nest Hubs, Nest Minis, and Nest speakers in the same Google Nest "home/structure" on the same Google Account, unless a display is set to "Do not disturb". The speakers do NOT have to be in the same "room". Our 3 Google Nest Hello Doorbells all send visitor announcements to all of our Nest Hubs and our Nest Mini.

As I mentioned above, there are other posts where "Visitor announcements" don't seem to be working with the new battery doorbell and with the 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell, but I haven't seen any explanation or solution.
