Nest Doorbell - wired 1st gen

Hello - I have a Nest hello doorbell (1st gen - wired ). It worked great at our previous townhome with no issues and recently we moved to a new house. I went to install it at our new house and cannot get it to connect. It gets to “connecting to nest account” and i get error NC017(3.3). I called support and they said I just need to leave the device unplugged for 24 hours which does not make sense. Anyone have a similar issue and/or fix? Thinking about just saying screw it and switching to ring.

Google Nest does not make it easy to update Wi-Fi settings, and you generally have to take steps BEFORE you move to a new Wi-Fi network.

You can try to see whether this helps (I suspect it won't):

In the Google Nest app, go to Settings | Home info | Home Wi-Fi help and see of you can select your doorbell and change its Wi-Fi settings.

If that doesn't work, then you probably should have removed your doorbell from the Google Nest app while you were still on your old Wi-Fi network, and then performed a factory reset.

You could try doing a factory reset now (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162?sjid=15897070145501479851-NC#zippy=%2Cnest-door... - use the "factory reset" instructions, not the "restart" instructions), but as the directions state, your doorbell should be connected to your doorbell wires, and you should then remove the doorbell from the Google Nest app (which probably means it should have been done while you were still on your old Wi-Fi network.)

Thank you for the response. That just seems so ridiculous, who thinks in the process of a move - I need to remove the camera from nest app while still wired and on my old WiFi. We are moving with 2 infants and can’t fathom that I would have needed a detail procedure to move my nest devices. Especially considering the other devices transferred just fine. This is extremely frustrating - I was planning to buy more nest cameras because I love the platform but now with this issue likely going to change. Doing my research seems like a common problem with no solution from Google/Nest
