Nest Doorbell wont reset, charge or work whatsoever

Camera went offline today at 33% battery remaining. Came home and the device was not working; no lights. Reset using pin in small hole under USB and the white light came on; steady with zero blinking. Tried to remount. No luck. Reset again and removed from Home. Tried to reinstall into Home with no luck. Whenever I put paper clip into hole the solid white light will disappear for 2 seconds and then turn on again.

 

Any ideas what to do next?

The exact same thing has happened to my doorbell (battery). I tried following the factory reset instructions using the pin hole but I'm not seeing any yellow lights or sounds to indicate factory reset.

When did it happen for you? Mine was today...wonder if there is a software issue etc if yours is recent too

Exact same thing with me, happened today. I think it restarts at least partly, but still stays offline. Will not factory reset at all. Not a very great experience with an expensive piece of kit.

What are you going to do to fix this Brad? 

We cant wipe the doorbell, we cant restart the doorbell, and we cant connect the doorbell to wifi. We have $130 bricks. Definitely curious what the fix will be or if there even is one.

Yes still dies not work

I bought it on march
It turned off with 49% battery
It doesnt show any lights, even when  plugged

Hey folks,

 

Sorry for the late response. When did it start happening? Have you tried using a different power cable and adapter to isolate the issue? Also, has it been exposed to direct sunlight? Keep us posted.

This happened 3 weeks ago. Is the battery powered one, stoped working with 40% battery on the app, I tried to charged it for a complete day and nothing happened. Is not on direct sunlight  since I live in an apartment (even when is supposed to work outdoors.... I don get why that should be a problem).

My 3 month old doorbell went off-line today, had been working flawlessly. Now Will not power up. Absolutely nothing happens when I plug it into the charger.  Does not chime or light up so  factory reset doesn't work either.  It acts like  the battery is completely dead yet the app says it has 66% charge and cannot find the device.
