Nest Facial recognition - no notifications for family, etc

Is there any point in the facial recognition feature of the Google cams bar inserting their name into the notification?

I want the ability to state, DO NOT show notifications for people I trust and know. Otherwise, we eventually end up ignoring all notifications as so many get triggered.

This is my biggest gripe with the doorbell. Almost every time I look down at my phone there's a notification of the last time I was on the porch. There's no point in running facial recognition if it can't filter notifications for the residents out.

Totally agree.

If the only is having someone's name in the notification then it seems like a pointless implementation of the tech!

Wish I knew this before buying into Nest.

Hello everyone,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. When you go to the settings of your Nest Cameras to the Google Home app and tap Events> Seen Events> at the very bottom you'll see the Familiar face detection and Manage option. When you hit Manage, you'll see the new detected faces and when you tap it, it will ask you if you know this person. When you proceed, it will ask you to add a name. As of the moment there's only one option for familiar face detection, which is located under seen events and there's no filter for it.

Best,

Emerson
