Add an option so the Nest Protect can make a noise when the doorbell is rung. This might also make sense for the thermostat or any other Nest product that can make noise.

That's a good idea. I'll try that next time.I don't really want to turn the camera off since then I have to remember to turn it back on, but having it go silent for an hour might do the trick.

This is my biggest gripe with the doorbell. Almost every time I look down at my phone there's a notification of the last time I was on the porch. There's no point in running facial recognition if it can't filter notifications for the residents out.
