Will Google Nest introduce a 2nd Generation - Wired - Weatherproof Camera - Surveillance Camera with Night Vision Camera? If so when?  Not interested in the one with flood lights.

Will it have the same issues with poor quality night vision that the current Google Nest cameras have been seeing for going on a year?  I’m hoping not, especially since the reported camera firmware update did not fix the issue as shown in these forums.  Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out here in the community, I'm here to help you. Sometimes Night vision video quality can be affected by internet speed or camera's infrared light that reflects off a surface near the camera.

I suggest taking a look at this article: Night Vision video quality is poor.

Thanks for the attempt at helping, but the internet speed  and WiFi signal are fine and it’s not the infrared lights reflecting off a surface near the camera.  As has been confirmed on these forums over and over again for the past year, owners’ problems with the cameras started with a firmware update Google made at the time.  The problems with night vision quality did not exist before the firmware update, but existed immediately after it.  Google is very much aware of the issue (depending on who you happen to speak with in Support) and we’ve all jumped through the hoops of these questions a number of times before…and yet, no reliable fix just about a year later, even with a known issue.

JohnD2.....   I had to return a brand new Nest Wired Outdoor Camera because I was unable to set it up.   I kept getting an error message with code C107 meaning that there was a problem with the bluetooth.   I had the bluetooth on and had no problems with it.   Someone suggested that the wired camera - 1st generation  (which had not been manufactured since 2021) was not compatible with the updated Nest App.  I purchased a google nest battery operated outdoor camera which uses the Google Home App  and it works great.

Do you have any pictures showing examples of the night vision quality with details on objects more than 4 or 5 feet out?  I’m interested to see how different the quality is on systems that are working great for some customers.  Tnx.

JohnD2... my battery operated outdoor camera is above my garage door facing my driveway.   AT the moment I do not have any night vision clips because no one is usually on the driveway after dark.   But as soon as I have any I will post them.
