Nest Outdoor camera not powering on

My camera will not power on. I tried resetting, unplugging etc etc.  How do I fix this? Do I need to order new power cord for it?

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. I want to check if you are still in need of any help. If so, please check and answer the following: 


  1. Check the LED status light of the device. Oftentimes, this would indicate the issue. To check what these lights look like, refer to Nest camera lights and sounds.
  2. Has the camera ever been powered on?
  3. Did the camera work when it was first installed? If yes, how long has it been since installation?
  4. Were there changes made with the setup, settings, and/or app of the Nest camera?
  5. Is the camera paired to a Nest Account?
  6. Were you using the USB cable and adapter that shipped with the camera?
  7. Is the Nest Cam Outdoor’s cable securely connected to the power adapter? Push and twist the USB connector into place. Then, plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  8. Are there any kinks or frays in the cable?
  9. Inspect for damages on the cable.
  10. Where is the device installed?
