I recently added Google Nest cameras around my home. When I purchased the cameras, my intent was to use them in battery mode only and take them down periodically to charge. Working with an electrician, he was able to get outlets next to all of the cameras and I now have them plugged in 24/7. I am extremely happy with their performance and not having to worry about charging them.
I believe these camera (battery version) can be plugged in full time without causing damage. Is that correct?
Thank you.

We have had a battery camera for over 4 years now, plugged in from the beginning with the optional power cable. Judging from some other posts, it seems that the camera has to be plugged in at the time of installation for the installation process to set a hidden setting telling the camera it is plugged in and running on household current; otherwise the camera has to be removed and reinstalled to prevent the battery from depleting.
If we go to Settings | Battery for our camera, it always says "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol.
The battery doorbell is a little different. Even when wired, it always runs on battery power and the battery is trickle-charged if the doorbell is wired.
"If you’ve connected your Nest Doorbell (battery) to your existing doorbell wiring, the wires don’t directly power the doorbell. Instead, the battery is trickle charged by the power that comes through the wires, and the doorbell runs off the battery charge." (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11830989).
I believe this would also apply if your battery doorbell is connected to a power adapter (like the one OhmKat sells, which we use for one of our 1st gen Google Nest Hello Wired Doorbells).
