Nest battery doorbell turns off when unplugged

I had this doorbell at our previous home. Tried to set it back up here, but the battery charges when plugged in, then the unit turns off as soon as it’s unplugged. Also had issues setting it up when it was plugged in.
move factory reset it twice.
Mee have a nest speaker and a google tv, both of which work just fine on the network.

Hey @Ramelan,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community. I am sorry to hear that your Nest Doorbell is turning off due to battery issues. I’d be happy to help you with that. Let’s check it out.

The Nest Battery Doorbell is designed to function primarily on battery power, with the option to plug it in for continuous charging. However, it's not unusual for the doorbell to turn off when unplugged. Here's why this happens and what you can do about it:

Low Battery: If the battery level is critically low, the doorbell might shut down entirely, even when plugged in. This is a protective measure to conserve remaining battery for essential functions.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Battery Check: Verify the battery level in the Nest app. If it's low, charge the doorbell even if plugged in. A full charge ensures optimal performance.
  2. App Restart: Sometimes a simple app restart can resolve temporary glitches. Close the Nest app completely and relaunch it on your phone or tablet.
  3. Doorbell Restart: Try restarting the doorbell itself. Locate the reset button (usually near the micro USB charging port) and press it for a few seconds.
  4. Physical Connection: Double-check the physical connection between the charging cable and the doorbell's micro USB port. Ensure it's secure and free of debris.

If the above steps don't resolve the issue, please let me know also please provide me more details if you keep having issues with the Nest Doorbell setup. You can also try these steps to Troubleshoot low-battery issues for Nest cameras and doorbells. Let me know if you need further assistance.
