I have nest cams on multiple homes, I cannot pinch to zoom on any cam in either home.
Is this a known issue? Has anybody got a fix, very frustrating

Hi Bupbups,
Thanks for posting here in the community. I understand how frustrating it must be when you can't pinch to zoom on any of your Nest Cameras across both homes on your Android device. Help is here!
To better assist you with accurate information, I’d like to confirm the following:
Keep me posted.

Hi Melany,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Here’s the information you asked for:
Issue: On my Samsung Galaxy S23, I can’t pinch-to-zoom on any of my Nest wired outdoor cameras in the Nest app. The pinch gesture does nothing in live view or in the video history, in both portrait and landscape, and whether the video is in the small view or full-screen.
When it started: I noticed the problem recently and it affects all of my Nest wired outdoor cameras across two different homes.
Apps I’m using:
In the Nest app on my S23: pinch-to-zoom does not work at all.
In the Google Home app on the same phone, pinch-to-zoom does work correctly on the same cameras.
App version / updates:
Nest app was installed from the Google Play Store and is fully up to date.
I am not enrolled in any beta that I’m aware of.
Other devices tested:
I tested the same Nest account and the same cameras on another Samsung Android phone (my father’s). On his phone, the Nest app zooms normally, so the problem seems specific to my Galaxy S23.
Current device details:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S23
OS: Android and One UI are both updated to the latest stable versions available (region: Ireland).
Troubleshooting I’ve already tried on the S23:
Restarted the phone several times.
Cleared cache in the Nest app.
Cleared storage/data for the Nest app, then uninstalled and reinstalled it from the Play Store and signed back in.
Tested pinch-to-zoom in other apps (Gallery, Google Maps, etc.) – zoom works fine there.
Confirmed that pinch-to-zoom works on the same cameras in the Google Home app.
Given that:
the cameras themselves work,
zoom works in Google Home on the same device, and
zoom works in the Nest app on another Samsung phone,
it looks like the issue might be specific to the Nest app on the Galaxy S23.
Please let me know if you’d like any logs, screenshots, or if there are additional steps you’d like me to try.
Also, I've no interest in migrating to Google home app for my nest outdoor wired cams, ideally I'd like to continue using the nest app.
Regards,
Ali

Hi Bupbups,
Thank you for the update. I appreciate all the efforts you've made to isolate the issue.
Since the feature is working correctly on your father's Samsung device, it confirms the issue is likely device-specific. As a next step, please try signing into your associated account and testing the feature on a third device (a tablet or another mobile phone).
If the issue persists only on your primary device, the best course of action is to contact Samsung Support. They have the specialized expertise and tools necessary to troubleshoot and resolve device-specific hardware or software issues. You can find their official support page here: Samsung Support.
Keep me posted.
Best regards,
Melany
