Nest cam floodlight turning off and on constantly

Just had a pro install nest cam w/ floodlight today and been spending a lot of time fine tuning the settings. After it got dark I observed the light going on and off every 30s despite no actual activity beyond bugs flying around. I went in and tweaked things so that all settings that trigger the light were disabled. I turned sensitivity to low and disabled general motion within the zone I created. Audio mic and recording is enabled still. After these changes it still kept going off and on every 30s. Am I missing something here?? If this thing is going to turn the light on for every bug it sees, then this product is unusable and needs yo be returned.

Hello Bke37699,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you. Have you tried turning off the Motion in Seen events settings?

Here are the steps to turn off Motion in Seen events settings

1.Open the Google Home app.
2.Select the Doorbell.
3.Tap More > Settings > Events > Seen Events.
4: Under Events History Turn Off Motion.

Let me know if that works.

Thanks.

Yes I spent many days troubleshooting this and through all my testing I’ve always had every motion setting disabled so that it would really only go in when it got dark. None of that worked nor did removing and re-adding the device. The problem seemed to be that the floodlight was connected to a dimmer switch and despite the dimmer being at the maximum intensity, it still kept bugging out by the light going off and on. It’s safe to say this product does not work properly with a dimmer switch. Not sure if that is obvious but news to me.
