My nest cam is plugged into a power outlet outside with the outdoor charging cable that we purchased separately from the original indoor one provided. The outdoor power outlet is working because we have an outdoor lights control box plugged into there and the lights turn on and off without any issues. So when we changed the charging cable to the outdoor one … it worked and the battery was working fine. HOWEVER, now that the battery is empty, it isn’t charging AT ALL. If it’s plugged in shouldn’t it CHARGE on IT’S OWN?
please help

Your camera should work. We have had a Google Nest Camera (Battery) plugged in all the time with Google Nest's optional 10-meter power cable since Sept. 2022, and the camera has always been "Live" and the battery has stayed charged even in cold weather. If I turn off the outlet to check the battery level, it's often been at 100%; right now it's at 87%. The battery level doesn't display when the camera is plugged in; it just shows "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol.
