Nest camera disconnected from home network, will not reconnect

For the last 3 days my 5-year-old outdoor Nest camera will not connect to my house's wireless network.  The network is functioning fine with other devices.  I have physically rebooted the camera several times but it still doesn't find the network.  I have a slow blinking blue light that indicates it's searching for a network.  I have also rebooted the network router, with no results.  Doesn’t connect either on my Web or smartphone apps.

Hello skyco26,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, do you have the Nest Cam IQ or the black Nest Cam with a stand? Do you see the small blue dot light or a ring light? In case you have the Nest Cam IQ outdoor, the factory reset button is on the front side of the camera, below the Nest logo.

We would recommend you to reset it to the factory default. Just a reminder, after the reset all event history will be deleted.

To reset: (For Nest Cam IQ Outdoor)

  1. Make sure your Nest Camera is plugged in and powered on before continuing.
  • Tip: To help restore your settings after resetting your Nest Camera, write down or take a screenshot of your camera settings.
  1. Press and hold your Nest Camera’s reset button with the paperclip or thumbtack. When the light ring starts spinning blue, release the button. Your Nest Camera’s lights will turn off while it's resetting.
  • Note: If you want to cancel the factory reset, release the button while the light is spinning yellow.
  1. The factory reset is complete when your Nest Camera chimes and the light ring starts slowly pulsing blue.
  2. After the factory reset, your Nest Camera will appear "Offline" in the app until you remove it.
  3. To remove it from the app, open the app, then tap  Settings Nest settings icon Remove device Confirm.

There is no factory reset button on Nest Cam Indoor, Nest Cam Outdoor, or Dropcam. To reset one of these cameras, simply remove it from your account.

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. Tap your Nest Camera that you want to reset.
  • Tip: To help restore your settings after resetting your Nest Camera, write down or take a screenshot of your camera settings.
  1. Tap Settings Nest settings icon Remove device Confirm.
  2. If you're giving your Nest Camera to someone else, you're done. If you want to reconnect your camera to the app, simply go through camera setup in the app again.

Regards,

Emerson
