Hi JoeSkariah,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand your concern about unwanted alerts. Let's see what we can do here. To confirm, how many Nest Cameras do you have? Is the issue affecting all of your Nest Cameras, or only one Nest Camera? Have you created Activity Zones for your Nest Camera in question? Are alerts enabled for the Activity Zones?

There are a few things that can trigger unwanted alerts or false positives, here are common triggers to name a few:

  • Changes in the light level
  • Shadow moving across the frame. For example, if a cloud moves in front of the sun.
  • Trees or bushes swaying near your important areas.
  • Headlights or flashing entering the field of view.

Give these steps a try:

Consider setting up an activity zone.

Try disabling specific events or change the positioning of your Nest Camera.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Emerson

I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. How's it going with your Nest Camera? We would appreciate it if you could share with us the information I’m asking above. Also, were you able to perform the steps I’m suggesting? We'd be glad to hear from you — We'd like to make sure everything is working.

Hey JoeSkariah,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let us know.

Best,
