My nest outdoor camera connected to the google home app but not to the nest app. When I try to add it to the nest app it redirects me to the Google home app. So I can't view my outdoor cameras in the nest app. PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm sorry to have to tell you that you have discovered the same thing we discovered when we bought a new Google Nest Camera (Battery) in September 2021. The new Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in the fall of 2021 (a week before we bought ours) work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website. They also lack some important functionality that is present in previous Google Nest cameras and doorbells because they don't work in the Google Nest app,  You can see the camera feeds for the new cameras in the Google Home app, but you can't view their history their or configure them there.

Google has posted its rationale for this, along with lots of customer reactions, in these posts in this forum:

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.

Best Regards,

Brad.
