Nest camera notifications not working on some cameras

MRospert

I have several cameras connected to my Nest Aware account, however, recently I have noticed some of my cameras are not sending me push notifications like they use to. This is only impacting some of the cameras. For example, if a car drives passed my house, my front yard will notify me of motion, but my driveway will not. When I look at both cameras, the motion was triggered to record on both.

I have tried checking the notification settings. On the cameras that notify me, the settings are correct. When I open the settings on a camera that does not notify me, the notification type is listed as none. If I leave that tab open for a moment, without changing anything, the system will automatically change the settings to notification type as push notification, set the way I want. I go out and the settings will work for maybe a short period before the cycle reverts to no notifications.

The part about push notifications turning on and off spontaneously seems weird. Have you tried briefly unplugging the offending cameras to see if that clears up the problem (assuming you have the older Google Nest cameras and not the new battery ones)?

I have tried but that didn't help. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app and everything as well, seemed to fix it for a short period but not working again

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I wanted to make sure that your concern was acknowledged. I am glad to see that you have tried to restart our devices already. I am wondering if this issue could be related to your wifi by chance?

Have you made any changes to your wifi connection or it's settings? If not, it could be related to a software update. You can also try to Factory Reset the cam with the issue, just be aware you would lose footage from that device and settings, but you can always set it up again and it should clear some issues.

Best Regards,

Brad.

There have been no changes to the WiFi. We use the modem from our provider as modern only connected to Nest mesh WiFi. I have not tried factory reset, as hope that Is a last resort given they're mounted to top of a second story. Odd the issue only impacts 2 of 3 outdoor cameras and the doorbell.

If your cameras are the older Google Nest cameras that are accessible in the Google Nest app, I saw a post recently where a customer was able to correct a similar problem with settings on Nest cameras by going to the home.nest.com website and updating the settings there.
