Nest camera notifications still showing when phone location is home.

We have owned nest cam for years and never encountered this issue until few months ago. I have nest cam app set up for both me and my wife to use iPhone location as always. The push notifications are supposed to only come to the iPhone when we are away from home as determined by the app using phone location services. However, now I keep getting notifications even when I am home even though the settings in Nest clearly state to only send notifications when No one’s home. This problem is very annoying as we keep getting inundated with unnecessary notifications all day when we are just moving around the house, while it’s supposed to only alert us to movement happening when we are not home. Has anyone else faced this issue and is there a recommended fix?

Thanks for reaching out — let’s see what’s going on. A few questions: when did it begin? Is this issue constant or intermittent? Also, what steps have you taken so far? Try to reconfigure your setting and observe if it will make a difference. Check out the steps below.

 

  1. Open the Nest app.
  2. On the app home screen, tap Settings.
  3. Select Notifications.
  4. Select the preferred camera to change alert settings for.

Thank you. I had changed the notification settings both on my phone and my family member’s phone and it seems to have worked. So this issue has now disappeared. I will post again if the issue resurfaces. Thank you for responding.
