Nest camera outdoor

I am very disappointed with the  camera. I have installed outdoors and majority of its activity is detecting tree movements, so consuming a large bandwidth and data, which are limited.

In many threads people  suggest  adjusting Events, but this camera does not allow this configuration. I also own an indoor camera, and with this I can adjust events. Why the options are different in the outdoors camera?

Is there any option for cancelling motion detection? Any upgrade coming?

If, as indicated in your post, you have a Google Nest Outdoor Camera that was installed in the Google Nest app, then go to your camera in the Google Nest app and go to Settings | Notifications and uncheck "All other motion". If you have Activity Zones set up, you will need to select each zone and do this for each zone.

If you instead have the Google Nest Battery Camera, which is installed in the Google Home app, go to your camera in the Google Home app and go to More [...] | Settings | Events | Seen Events and turn off "Motion". If you have Activity Zones set up, you will need to select each zone and do this for each zone.

It is not a problem of notifications. Even without them the videos are upload to the Nest cloud thus consuming data. I use the camera in a rural area with 4G limited connection and the NestCam consumes almost all the data of the plan I have.

In the indoor and ring cameras, it is possible to define the events that trigger the video capturing and upload, but not the the outdoors wired cam.

So… it is not impossible to implement. It us just that lack of interest.

Sorry for not seeing your issue in your initial post.

If you have a 2nd gen Google Nest Camera and turn off recording for "Motion", it should not record motion events. If you have a 1st gen Google Nest camera, you are right that there is no way to turn off the recording of motion events. In fact, in this thread from two years ago, Google Nest seemed to have difficulty understanding the issue:

Thank you for your reply.

In the thread it seems that the issue is not solved.

It is very sad how a good and working product is being abandoned. It makes me loose confidence in Google products.
