I bought this camera in Costco. It’s rated for both indoor and outdoor. When I am setting up the camera on the google home app, I am being asked if the camera will be placed indoor or outdoor. Why is this important? Is it for optimization purposes? Like for example, if I set it up as an outdoor camera it will take into account outside traffic, trees moving in wind etc, while if I set it up as indoor it will look at other things. The reason why I ask is, I am putting one of the cameras in my garage, and I am not sure if I should set it as indoor or outdoor.

Hi there,
I apologize for my late response, and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how upsetting this may be, and I'm happy to assist you with this. Great questions for sure! If your garage gets very cold in the colder months, I would suggest that you install it outdoors. It shouldn't change anything too much besides some of your settings, but you should be able to install it in the garage.
Best regards,
Brad
