Nest door with Virgin Hub 5 not connecting.

Hi,

Very fustrating , I got a new Virgin media Hub 5 router , all my other devices connect very well - fire TV, Alexa , chromecast (and stadia) . But the nest Doorbell does not connect.

I tried all restarting and factory reset of doorbell, restarting router but no avail .

My home app does notice that a device needs to be added (via bluetooth) but when I select doorbell , it fails on connecting to device screen.

Did anyone face the same issue ? any pointers ?

Google support - what's your answer to this ? This seems to be a common issue for most  yet there is no solution ?

Any help is gratefully received . Thank you

Hi @GrumpyPhil54,

Thanks for reaching out and providing detailed information. I understand that you're running into some issues when you try to connect your Nest doorbell to your WiFi connection, and I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. I'm here to help you find a solution together.

To assist you with the best solution, I would like to get a bit more information:

  • What model of Nest doorbell do you have?
  • How far is the doorbell from the router?
  • Do you have other Nest devices in the house?
  • Can the doorbell find other Wi-Fi networks?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?
  • What Wi-Fi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?
  • What’s the color of the LED status light?
  • When and from where was the device purchased?
  • Is your Bluetooth on when you try to set up your Nest doorbell?
  • Has the device been paired before?

Please keep me posted.

Sincerely,

Jeremy.
