Nest doorbell battery can’t connect to assist device

Hello,

My brand new Nest doorbell battery can’t connect to assist device. I restarted my iPhone, tried to turn off and on Google Home and Nest in Settings-Privacy-Local Network and nothing is working. 

very frustrating!!! Can someone help me with this issue!?

I wish Google would address this. There are numerous postings in this forum about how Google's use of an "assisting device" often does not work. Google should provide information on how to configure a new camera or doorbell without going through an "assisting device" when that avenue does not work.
