Nest doorbell “battery issue”

Hi all,  

Ive gotten progressively worse battery life from my doorbell (13 months old) and just got this one when trying to charge it.  I followed some previous post and the help article but it didn’t lead to anything useful.  
Any ideas?   What is the warranty for these?

Thank you for your patience, I know that keeping your Nest devices charged is very important, and I would love to help you out. I would first suggest restarting your doorbell first. This will clear out any issues it may be having. When it comes to keeping your Nest Doorbell (battery) or Nest Cam (battery) up and running, here are some articles and troubleshooting guides for the best charging practices:

  • This is a great article on general charging times for your devices.
  • This helpful article tells you how to save the battery with your doorbell or camera.
  • And this last article, will go over charging expectations when you may live in a cooler/colder environment which will address charging temperatures, etc.

I hope those articles help shed some light on charging and maintaining battery levels of your Nest doorbell or camera. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you but none of this was helpful - unfortunately it seems there is a problem with the battery, and with the device being only 1+ years old I'm super disappointed.  
Is there any way of returning this under warranty?

Hey MEA,

 

I’m sorry you’re still having trouble with the battery of your camera. Let’s further check this — a few questions: what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? Could you install it as hard wired? Could you factory reset your camera then let us know how it goes? Also, make sure the power cord is snugly fit into the port of the camera.
