Opening a new thread as I'm still experiencing this with Android phones. (Apple phones seem to work just fine)

Multple threads have been opened before and closed without a solution, see:

Hey there,

Thanks for bringing this up to me, I'd love to take a look into this for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This might be helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad

Hi everyone,

@bvandijk, it's us again. How's your Nest Doorbell? Have you checked if you have Bluetooth devices connected to your mobile phone? Can you check if you can hear audio from other apps just fine?

Give these steps a try:

Check your Google Home app or Nest app permissions:

  • Android mobile device: Go to your phone’s Settings> Apps> Google Home or Nest  Permissions, and make sure Microphone is enabled.
  • For iOS users: Go to the device’s Settings> Google Home or Nest  Permission, and make sure Microphone is enabled.

Test if your device’s microphone is working.

  • Open your default voice recorder app or any other app that uses your device’s microphone and test the device’s microphone on the app.
  • Check if the device is connected to a Bluetooth device that may be serving as the microphone.

Hit this link for more information and steps.

I appreciate the help, Brad.

Regards,
Emerson

Hello bvandijk,

Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, we would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let us know.

Thanks,
Emerson
