Nest doorbell cam (wired) won’t connect to house doorbell

My wired nestcam doorbell won’t connect to the house doorbell unless I press the two wires together. I’ve checked all connections inside and out. After resetting for 10 seconds, it works once inside the house, then stops again. Help…..

Sorry to hear about that and for the delay. Let's get this sorted out. A few questions: what type of chime are you using? How much voltage does the transformer have?
