One of my doorbell faces is peeling/cracking like apparently sooooooo many others. And like others I've got alot of money invested in the Nest ecosystem -- a decision I'm beginning to regret. Based on other threads with this issue I was expecting a replacement doorbell after contacting customer service but just spent 35 minutes on the phone with them and was declined a replacement even after providing a copy of the original receipt. They stated that it's 4 months past the warranty period.
This is clearly a manufacturing issue and the product faceplate is defective. The warranty should be extended for product defects or a recall of doorbells should be issued. I'm super frustrated and hope others will join be in petitioning for a product recall if Google will not replace theese defective products. I really was not expecting to be denied a replacement due to the warranty being expired by 4 months.
BTW, Google's market cap this morning is $1.82 trillion. My doorbell cost $206.10 and lasted just over 2 years.
