During installation of the doorbell, after it says connected, I keep getting the message “something went wrong “. Have tried several times in the google home app.

I definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I wanted to make sure that your concern was acknowledged. Usually, this message indicates that it's having trouble with your wifi connection. I would restart your wifi, restart/factory reset this doorbell, and try again.
