Nest doorbell microphone not working and all settings are correct

I have many Nest Cam devices and am very familiar with the correct settings. I have two Nest Cam wired doorbells and the audio on one works perfectly and then other one is almost non-existent. The level is so low that I cannot hear sound from it even when a lawnmower is 10 feet away from it.

I have checked all the settings and they are all correct and it is still not functioning properly.

I have done both soft and hard resets and still it is not working.

I suspect that the device may need to be replaced.

Any assistance?

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand the microphone on one of your two Nest Doorbells (wired) is barely picking up any sound, even though the settings are correct and you've already tried both a soft and hard reset. I'm here to help! 

To isolate the root cause of this issue, I have some questions for you:

  1. What's the specific model of your Nest Doorbell wired? Is it the first or second Gen? Please check out the following link for your reference: Technical specs for Nest cameras and doorbells
  2. When did you first notice this issue?
  3. Has the doorbell suffered any drops or impacts?
  4. Is the doorbell exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods?

1: The model info is as follows: 

Nest Doorbell (wired)

Serial no. 

Software 4110055

 

2: It has always been very quiet since it was installed. The microphone never really worked well.

3: No, the unit was never dropped or damaged. It was taken out of the box and installed on the wall.

4: No, it is installed out of direct sunlight and on a covered porch.
