Nest doorbell won't reset to factory settings to reconnect to wifi

After losing wifi connection I cannot reconnect the hardwired doorbell nor can I successfully reset it to factory settings.  I have "forgotten" the device and after attempting the factory reset (by both using just a paper clip as well as holding the reset button simultaneously with the front button) the light is a solid green and the circle has a revolving white light.

Hi PAV1019,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost the WiFi connection, and now neither the Nest Doorbell is reconnecting to your Google Home app nor the device is performing the factory reset. Don't worry; I'm here to help! Just to get started, I'd like to confirm some information with you. Can you please help me answer the next questions?

  • What's the model of your Nest Doorbell?
    • Nest Doorbell (wired), previously known as Nest Hello.
    • Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen.)
    • Nest Doorbell (battery)
  • How long did you press the reset button?
  • Can you hear any noises during the factory reset process?

In the meantime, if you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Nery.
