Just installed new 2nd gen doorbell. Was working fine except only one chime in house was working. I was trying to reconnect one wire on silent chime and then doorbell went into blinking yellow status. Powered on/off several times, then disconnected it. Still blinking yellow. Tried reset and then factory reset. Still blinking yellow. Saw a previous post where you need to insert pin into reset hole and hold doorbell button for 10 seconds. No reaction, still blinking yellow. I assume internal battery will run out of power eventually and maybe that will do it.

Going to stop this thread. After the mini- battery lost power, I was able to reset the device.

So after you reset the device successfully did the 2nd chime start to work?

All I could get to work was the upstairs chime. The downstairs chime next to the front door bell is still not working, and that is the one with the pick on it. The next time I go back to visit my daughter, I may try and move the puck to the upstairs chime and see if that makes a difference, although not sure if that distance is too far away from the doorbell.

Hi DanTer,
Thank you for posting in the community! I’ll be glad to assist you regarding your concerns about your Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) blinking yellow light status when you tried to connect a second chime.
The reports of the issue and the troubleshooting steps tried are welcome; they're very useful.
Consider that the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) has higher power requirements than most doorbells. For some installations, you'll need to replace the transformer.
From your information, it seems that the transformer in your home may not be adequate to support two chimes.
Please check the information and transformer’s requirements in the help article: Upgrade your transformer for Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen.).
Also, make sure to turn off the breakers of your electric installation before checking the following conditions:
The wires are securely connected into the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen).
There is no physical damage to the doorbell and/or wires.
There is sufficient power to the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen).
Besides, you can contact a professional Nest Doorbell installer. The suggested article includes wiring diagrams.
I hope this information helps, please keep me posted.
Regards,
Humberto
