Nest floodlight camera not working

Baggieoz

I had the camera installed by an electrician and it was working but I couldn't turn the light on via the app.  After reading posts on here I attempted a hard reset.

No tones were heard and now there are no lights on the front to say its pairing.

What can I do? I can't return it as it's now wired in.

Hello @Baggieoz,

Thanks for reaching out about the pairing issues with your Nest camera after a hard reset. I understand the frustration, especially after a professional installation. I also appreciate your effort in trying to hard reset on your own, thanks for your effort.

To help diagnose the issue, could you confirm the exact steps you took for the hard reset?

In the meantime, I also recommend trying a factory reset through the Google Home app. This can sometimes resolve pairing problems without needing to physically reset the camera. Here's how to do it:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Locate your Nest camera in the app.
  • Tap on "Settings."
  • Look for "factory reset" and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • If neither the app reset nor confirming your hard reset steps resolves the issue, we can explore further troubleshooting options.

Here are some resources that you might find helpful:

To perform the factory reset correctly, you will need to unmount the camera from the base and connect it to the charger cable. Then,  you will need to press and hold the bottom until you hear the confirmation tone, or you can follow the steps on this Reset your Nest camera link.

I appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to get your Nest camera working again! Please let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Jorge
