Nest notification isn’t working on google home

Hi there,

I have google home and the nest app on iOS for a nest doorbell and 2 nest outdoor cameras. I receive nest notification for when the doorbell rings and people in the cameras areas.

I also have the google home app with all the cameras set up in there. The problem is I can’t receive the same notifications through google home as I do on the nest app. I don’t have the option to turns the notifications on with each camera in google home. I have compared this with a friend who set up the cameras only in google home and he has the notifications through google home only.

what am I doing wrong or do I need to go and set up the cameras through google home early.

The Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in the fall of 2021 work ONLY in the Google Home app (and send notifications there), while our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells can be SEEN in the Google Home app but send their notifications in the Google Nest app (where they are still administered and history is viewed).

Google Nest's Vice President posted this rationale for this approach on Sept. 29, 2021:
