One of my outdoor camera cables is rotted out because of sun damage here in Hawaii. The insulation on the wire coming out of the camera is completely gone. Can it somehow be replaced without buying a whole new camera?

Google Nest no longer sells replacement cables for the Google Nest Outdoor Camera, and the portion of the cable closest to the camera is hard-wired into the camera and so is not replaceable. We have 3 of these cameras. If our cables rot, I think I'll clean the debris off of the wires and wrap each individual wire in electrical tape, and them wrap the set of wires in duct tape to enclose them.

Thank you so much for your answer. Sometimes high tech needs low tech to work. Mahalo!

I taped it up. It is not pretty. I do not think it will last long at all. It is frustrating that the cam works just fine and just the wire gave up. If it is advertised as outdoor, the whole product is supposed for outdoor or maybe design it in a way the less long lasting part can be replaced.
