Nest outdoor camera cable

Hi all, the issue isnt really cosmetic but it seems the closest to an appropriate catagory.

Has anybody experienced issues with power cable to the camera breaking down. 

I have one that appears to be UV damaged. Surely the cable on the cameras is UV rated?? 

I appreciate that on the picture it may look like it's been chewed but it hasnt. The cable is brittle and crumbling just like when a none UV rated cable is used outside. I have a video which would show more detail but cant seem to upload it here.
