I purchased a pair of Nest Outdoor cameras. I have one wired in and one working on its battery. I also have an older wired nest indoor camera. I purchased these for security and only two days in to our two week holiday both the outdoor cameras are not showing video but they are still notifying me of motion and I can here the noise when I press on the camera. The screen just spins like it’s trying to load the video but then says live view is unavailable. My older indoor camera loads straight to live video straight away. Any idea what’s wrong with my outdoor cameras and how to solve it when I’m on holiday. It can’t be anything to do with battery or Wi-Fi because as I said I have another camera working fine.

Hello @TommyHotspur1,
Thanks for reaching out. Have you tried turning the camera off and on using the app? This might help resolve the issue.
Hope that helps! 🙂

Hi, I have done this multiple times. It’s strange that I can hear the sound and it’s logging motion but it will not load the video or show live video. My older generation indoor camera is working fine on both the Google home app and the nest app. Loads live video straight away. So frustrating that I brought this for security and the first time I have wanted them when I have come on holiday they are letting me down. I also bought the new generation battery doorbell. This is the worst doorbell on the market. Battery lasts half the time to a ring doorbell. Wish I would have got all ring stuff now.

Hi folks,
Thanks for the help here, listairee.
TommyHotspur1, thanks for reaching out. Try the factory reset. This erases all your personalized settings, deletes the entire video history, and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to WI-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again.
Check out this link for more information about it.
Regards,
Juni

Hi,
I got my someone round while we were on holiday and got him to turn the WiFi on and off and that brought back live view. After 2 days then the doorbell went offline again but my 2 new generation battery outdoor cams continued to work and my old generation nest indoor camera has worked the whole time. Definitely a bug somewhere in them new nest cameras.
Thanks

Hello TommyHotspur1,
Thanks for posting in our Community. I'm sorry for the delay and to hear you're having trouble with this. Let’s check it out.
A few questions: what type of Nest doorbell do you have? What is the color of the status light when the device is offline? Do you have an iOS or Android device? Also, are you using the Google Home or Nest app?
This handy guide may help: Troubleshoot offline Nest camera or doorbell.
Keep me posted.
Thanks for the help, listairee, Juni, and Jenelyn.
Best,
Lance

Hi Lance,
Cameras are all fixed. Had to reset them. Which isn’t great when your cameras go down when you’re on holiday.
Thanks
Tom
