Nest wired outdoor camera keeps going offline since I migrated to home app from nest

I have been going crazy trying to find a solution for this problem.  Since migrating from nest it has been nothing but problems.  Every time I unplug the cameras they work for about half a day and then mysteriously go offline.  I have one nest battery outdoor camera that works perfectly fine. Unfortunately, two wired outdoor nest cameras are useless.  I’ve tried deleting the cameras, adding them again a few times. I just don’t understand how they could work perfectly fine on the Nest app, but then when I finally migrated to the home app where I had the battery nest camera, hoping everything would be under one app and working as it should, I can’t be the only one can I?

Hi Folks,

Thank you for posting in the community. I see you're having trouble with two Nest Cameras Outdoor Wired that keep showing offline after the migration to the Google Home app. I understand how frustrating this must be, and I appreciate all the troubleshooting efforts you've already taken. I'm here to help.

For better assistance, please answer the following questions:

  • What model of Nest camera do you have? (Here is a helpful article to confirm the type of Nest Camera).
  • What LED status light do you see to the Nest camera?
  • What is the make and model of your Android or iOS device?
  • How far is the camera from the router?
  • Can the camera find other Wi-Fi networks?
  • Are there any devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?
  • Do other devices experience slow internet speeds?
  • What Wi-Fi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?
  • What is the make and model of your router?

Please keep me posted on your findings.

Regards,

Byron

Having the same problem with two cameras. Worked with the live help nothing worked, so they kicked me up to the senior live help. That has been useless. nothing works. They told me if they think of anything they will email me. Otherwise, I'm out of luck, no way they or I can put them back on the Nest App. They did email me a list of things to do that I have no idea what they're talking about. All above my knowledge level. They then said i should work with my internet provider as it's not their problem. Wait a minute, everything else I own works fine and these two cameras worked fine until they got me to transfer them to Google Home, how it is not their issue?

1) Nest Cam Indoor both

2) Slow flashing blue

3) iPhone 17

4) 3 feet for one and 30 feet for the other. Same location that they have been working 100% in for 4 years

5) yes

6) no

7) no

😎I have not seen an option for that when I try to connect

9) Nokia Model XS-010X-Q

Nothing has changed except the transfer to Google Home. Worked for last 4 years. Google Home must have downloaded something to the cameras that stops them from connecting or, on one occasion, from connecting for more than 6 hours.

I have the exact same issue. My two 2nd Gen outdoor wired Nest cameras consistently drop from the Home App. They worked flawlessly with the Nest App. I have 3 other Nest indoor cameras that work just fine on the google home app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled said cameras only for them to lose connectivity a day later.

Yes, this is frustrating. I have the same issue. Bought a new Camera which will only connected to the google home app so i migrated my existing two camera from nest to google. Now the old cameras do not work except for a short time after unplugging. Come on Google, lets do better. Please help us.

To follow up, I performed a hard reset of all of my cameras. I also checked my router setting and the ip addresses for all the cameras. Since doing so, I haven’t had any connectivity drops on the Google home app. If it does temporarily drop a signal, it comes back shortly. Baby steps.
