Hi there,

I apologize for my late response, and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I understand how upsetting this concern may be, and I'm happy to assist you with this obstacle in any way I can. The Nest Hello doorbell will not make a ring or sound unless it is set up with the included chime. If you do not want a chime, I would suggest looking into the Nest doorbell (battery) as it does not use a chime, but will only send you a notification unless you have a smart display/speaker set up and used as a chime.

Best regards,
Brad

Hey icw,

Thanks for getting back to us. No worries, let’s sort this out. When did the issue start? Do you have an Android or iPhone? Is your phone’s Do Not Disturb mode feature on? Also, is your Nest app up to date?

Here are some troubleshooting you can try:

  1. Turn off all notification settings in your Nest app and double check if the Web app has the same settings.

Important: If you have the Nest app, you should also double check that your Nest web app has the same notification settings as the mobile app.

  1. Sign out of the Nest account on all devices it's signed into, including computers.
    • iOS
      • Delete the app.
      • Restart the phone.
      • Reinstall app.
    • Android
      • Clear the app's cache.
      • Restart the phone.
      • Reinstall app.
Note: Make sure to check these settings after you reinstall the app.
        • Background app refresh is on.
        • Do Not Disturb is off.
        • The app and phone OS are up-to-date.
  2. Sign in and turn all notification settings back on. If needed, double check if the Nest web app has the same settings.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

JT
