New Nest doorbell

Can anyone share how I can view a notification through my Google display. I get notifications through my phone and doorbell chime through my speakers, but iget nothing through on the Google display. When I read about it before purchasing it showed the display being used by but I cannot figure out how to do it. 

Any solutions would be helpful.




If you have "Visitor announcements" turned on for your doorbell, you should get announcements on all of yur Google Nest speakers and displays:

Thanks for reaching out! I'd absolutely love to help you with this. You may turn on your visitor announcement on your Nest Hello doorbell by following these steps:


For Nest Doorbell Battery:

  1. Open the Home app .
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. In the top right, tap Settings and then Doorbell.
  4. Turn Visitor announcements on or off.

For Nest Hello doorbell(wired):

  1. Open the Nest app app home icon.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings Nest settings icon and then Visitor announcements. This will take you to the Google Home app.
  4. When asked, follow the onscreen prompts in the Google Home app to complete setup.

To turn visitor announcements off, turn off your display notifications. You can also use Do Not Disturb to temporarily turn off visitor announcements for your Google speaker or display.

I have the same problem. If your camera/doorbell is OFF (i.e. not ON or IDLE), you will hear the chime on button press, but the camera will not turn on and stream video to your Google displays (e.g. Nest Hub).

Crazy design, I know... but that's how it works.
