Next Cam Indoor Wired (gen2) - Set WiFi Network

My nest cam works fine, but every few days or so it disconnects from my mesh wifi network when it tries to connect to a different access point with the same Network name. The solution seems to be that I create a separate SSID for the access point closest to the cam, easy to do.

Unfortunately I can not find a way to connect the camera to that new network SSID because even after a factory reset and re-add to the home, it goes through the "Assistive Device" silliness where nest "helps" me by making me wait for 2 minutes for a smoke detector or a nest hub to tell it what the wifi password is rather than just letting me choose the network.  There is no option to skip this assistive device routine.

After it goes through this little time wasting song & dance, it is now connected to the network that it was originally connected to and I seem to have *NO WAY* to force the device to connect to a different WiFi network.

Surely there is some way to specify what network I want a device to connect to. Surely I'm not the first person with a house big enough that I need to get specific devices on specific access points... Any ideas?

Hi. I have a similar problem.  My wireless router provides just enough signal at the opposite side of the house to setup the camera but not enough to actually use it. The camera insists on joining this SSID because that is where the doorbell is.  The only way I could get the camera to join the access point I added to get WiFi to that end of the house is to create a new home for it.  Set up like a charm as the only device in that home.  BUT, no I’m in a support loop trying to get that new home in the existing physical structure on my existing Aware account.  It is now on the trial license that came with the camera.

FYI.  In the end, I gave up.  My second home in the same house now has a second Aware subscription. You may not wish to use the approach of creating a new home to allow you to use your second SSID.  I think Google has failed us with the set up routine.
