I just installed a Nest doorbell (wired) 2nd gen. Everything works except no notification sound. I am missing the notifications because they are silent. This is defeating the purpose of the device. I have “Sounds” turned on in settings.

Hi there,
Thanks for bringing up the concern you're having. I'd love to look into this for you. This is an intended function, as there is no audible sound for notifications for the newer devices. You can set up Visitor Announcements to go over a smark speaker or display if you wish. You can find out more here.
Best regards,
Brad

Brad I am confused now because I actually DO get notification sounds .... sometimes! It's the default iOS alert sound.

You may get a sound, but it is more of a chime. I thought you were asking something else. My mistake, but please let me know if you need further assistance.
Best regards,
Brad

Ok.
I would like to request the ability to change the sound to a different one. For reference, check the WhatsApp Notifications settings. There is an option to select a notification sound from the iOS list of available sounds. This way I could have an audible way to identify that the notification is coming from Nest and not something else/generic.

There is no such option, i'm afraid. You are welcome to share your experience in the app so your request goes to our engineers and developers.
Best regards,
Brad
