Notifications not loading video preview from doorbell

Device: iPhone 17 Pro

iOS Version: 26

Since upgrading to iOS 26, the video previews from my Nest doorbell no longer play in notification previews. Previously, pressing and holding a notification that detected motion at the door would expand it and play a short video clip as a preview. Now, only a single still image appears, and the video preview does not play. The image sometimes flashes as if the video is trying to load, but it never plays.

The issue started after upgrading to iOS 26. Video playback within the Google Home app itself works fine; the problem is limited to the notification preview.

Same here, since IOS26 update, Nest cam notifications are blinking images instead of video. I managed to make it work for one notification after a reboot, but nothing after that...

Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery) here.

I think the issue resolved for me with the 4.0.55 update. The previews started working again like on iOS 18

make sure you update IOS and Google Home app
