Outdoor Cam (Battery): No events at night

My camera does not record events at night.

Night vision is on and working as verified by watching live video.
I do not have activity zones.
I have People, Animals and Motion settings activated.
The sensitivity is set to High.
The battery is charged via solar and otherwise works fine.
Nothing is blocking the camera.
I am not using Automations.
There are no Schedules active or defined.

I have a motion-activated patio light, and if I approach the camera at night, the patio light will turn on and the event will be captured. I have various animals coming and going throughout the night (racoons, cats, possum) and none of this is captured.

Can anyone help me with this?

I understand your Nest Cam (outdoor, battery) isn't recording events at night, since it catches events when the patio light is on, but misses other natural nighttime activities like animals. To better assist you with accurate information, I’d like to ask a few questions:

• Have you had this issue since the initial installation?
• Have you created Home & Away Routines? If so, do you have any family members under your account?
• Do you have any other Nest Camera that has the same issue?
• Approximately how far away are the animals typically when they are passing by, but not being captured?
• Are there any significant light sources near the camera (besides your patio light) that might be turning on or off throughout the night? (e.g., streetlights, neighbor's lights, car headlights passing by, etc.)
