Outdoor camera will not charge, even though been plugged in from day one

I installed the camera about eight weeks ago and also plugged in for permanent use the charging unit ran it through the garage and plugged in. The battery kept going down and it’s still plugged in and won’t charge. Am I doing something incorrect? I thought you could have it charged all the time.

Do you have the charging cord plugged into the bottom of the camera with the cord feeding towards the front of the camera?  (That's how it should be.)

I'm not convinced you can use the charging cord and adapter that comes with the camera as a power cable; I've seen a few posts in this forum from customers having issues trying to do so.  We've had a battery camera since Sept. 2021, plugged in with the optional 10-meter power cable, and it's been "Live" ever since and has never needed charging.

If your camera is plugged in, when you go to Settings | Battery it should say "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol.

Also, I think there's an option during the install process to indicate whether the camera will be plugged in or running on battery power; you can't change that selection after the camera is installed.
